Unreal Engine

The Procedural Mesh Studio plugin for Unreal Engine 5.4 to 5.8.

Install

  1. Install the Studio and sign in once. In its Settings → Engines, Unreal Engine is on by default.
  2. Download the plugin for your engine version from the download page and copy the ProceduralMeshStudio folder into your project’s Plugins/ folder.
  3. Open the project. The plugin finds the Studio by itself; set a different copy in Project Settings → Plugins → Procedural Mesh Studio if you need to.

Use

  • Open the Studio with the Procedural Mesh button in the toolbar.
  • Bring a script in from the Studio with Send to ▾ → Unreal, or Copy to project.
  • Place it: drag the asset into a level. The Details panel shows one control per parameter, at the script’s own ranges.
  • Change it: moving a parameter asks the Studio for new geometry. When the Studio is not running, the plugin starts it in the background, with no window.
  • Bake it to a Static Mesh when it is final, with its materials, lightmap UVs and collision.

A level opens and renders without the Studio: each placed mesh keeps the last geometry it was given.

When something is wrong

The editor shows a notification when the Studio is not installed (with a link here), when it is not signed in, or when the plugin and the Studio need updating.
